In order to be nominated, nominees should meet criteria that represents the lofty ideals and goals of a OSAA Hall of Fame Member and reflect the integrity of the Hall of Fame status.

GENERAL CRITERIA

  • Current OSAA member in good standing, unless retired.
  • 20 years of OSAA Membership (accumulative)
  • 20 years of active working experience in the auction industry
  • Must have a substantial history of participating in OSAA events, committees, conventions and seminars.
  • Preference given to individuals who have served as an officer or a member of the OSAA Board of Directors.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND CONSIDERATIONS OF NOMINEE

Additional Qualifications that weigh heavily in the selection include the nominee’s participation in the Oklahoma State Auctioneers Association and if possible, the National Auctioneers Association (NAA). If they have been an officer or a member of the Board of Directors; have served on various committees; have attended and volunteered at OSAA seminars and conventions; have been a speaker or a member of a panel discussion at OSAA conventions or seminars; have they participated in OSAA contests (Bid Calling, Ringman, Advertising).

An additional area looked at closely is the nominees auction business. It doesn’t make any difference as to the size of their auctions, the area that they encompass or the type of auctions or variety they may conduct. What is important is that they have been active in the auction industry for a minimum of twenty (20) years, and their professionalism, integrity and high standards have made them an auction and civic leader in their area.

A third area that adds some weight is the individual’s contribution to their community. Have they been active in community projects, civic organizations, elective office or any other community area?

An out-of-state OSAA member may also be considered if he or she meets all of the OSAA guidelines and has conducted auctions in the state of Oklahoma for twenty (20) years.
